I did exactly what i seen on the internet in many forums. I cut one of the 4 wire plastic connecters off. I stripped the yellow wire and put that on the 12+ terminal on my amp. I then used the black ground wire next to the yellow for my ground terminal on my amp. I then used a short wire to go from the positive terminal to the REM(remote). This way when i turned on my PSU and plugged it in my amp would turn on with it. The problem is nothing would happen. The fan would slow like a PSU normally will do, but the prot (protect) light will not come on but the power light will not come on either. Can someone please tell me what i did wrong?

  1. first on computer power supplies (which is what I assume you mean) yellow is your 12 volt and then the black is negative. voltage is not the only thing that matters in electronics. car amps require around 23 to 25 amps. the average computer psu might have 22 amps on the 3.3 or 5 volt rails but the 12 v is probably around 14. that is why nothing happens. you are not providing enough amperage
