Question really is how can all the big dollars being spent now cause the racing to become so boring.  If money is ruining NASCAR lets hope some one starts another circuit with real stock cars, dirt tracks and drivers who want to win

I agree. I am still a fan but I don't like how things are working now. I miss the days when half the field were potential race winners. Now we have a hand full of big money teams and a bunch of field fillers.

Though the top 35 rule is flawed, it does add some excitement to teams on the lower end of the spectrum.

The biggest issue is that I can offer no suggestion to fix things and make NASCAR the way it was, can you?

NA$CAR is about one thing and one thing only. MONEY ! NASCAR ! Sold to the highest paying sponsor !

Jessica, I see that you have a Carolina Panthers avatar which leads me to believe you are a fan. How can you say this about NASCAR when ALL pofessional sports are about the MONEY....................By the way, I am a Carolina fan too but yo are way off base about the $$$$$; that is they way it is all around the sports world!!

which big money are you talking about? the money that is paid for the tv coverage? same as football, baseball, etc.

any idea how much it costs to race NASCAR?  we race at the local level and its 5 to 10 thousand per race and we only have 1 car, not the 3 or 4 per team that cup has.

the drivers deserve every penny they get, and the owners were rich to start with.

When it comes down to it, money$ makes the world go round.  All sports from baseball to football back to racing revolve around money.  As a football fan you should understand.  If you watch the Super Bowl, you should know that one commercial with a block of 2 minutes pays for that spot millions of dollars.  So sorry to say, but what are you complaining about again?

i haven't received any big bucks for it - then or now.  

but i'm a more recent "fanatic" - i came on board about the time winston was leaving... i watched before (late 70s, early 80s) but was a kid in an "nhra" family, so i didn't really pay all that much attention then, nothing like now where i don't miss a minute of coverage - pre- or post-race, qualifying, practice, analysis shows, etc.

so i love it now and other than watching old races on espn classic or on "back in the day" i feel i don't have quite the background to comment intelligently on how it was "back in the day."

I'm not into the Cup series as much as I used to be. All the cars are identical, and it's kinda bland. Good thing there are still race series out there like the ALMS, where the cars have some personality.
