I used to have prophetic dreams a lot, wondering why this doesn't happen so much anymore.?

( I posted this in the dream section too, sorry if your reading this twice) When I was in my teens and 20s I used to have dreams all the time that would come true. Usually the dreams were of "unhappy situations." These could be dreams about something completely senseless, or dreams about someone being in an accident. Right before my friends or co-workers would break up, or divorce I would almost always dream about it right before I heard of it. I used to tell people " I had this really weird dream last night" and then it would come to pass. This would really freak people out, I guess I was used to it. I learned to not tell very many people, as they just thought it was weird and creepy.

Anyway, it very rarely happens anymore and my question is did I maybe outgrow this, or for what reason would it stop happening?? Also, what's the point of having these types of dreams in the first place if I wasn't able to help anyone with the information I was given?

  1. While you might have dreams that seemed prophetic no doubt you had a lot of other random dreams too which you forgot about because you didn't link them with any actual occurrences.

As far as dreaming about someone getting divorced there is nothing miraculous about that. People don't suddenly decide they are getting divorced there is usually conflict and discontent for months in advance, your subconscious picking up these signs and predicting in dream that divorce is likely is like reading the writing on the wall.

  2. "The one" Your the first person to answer to the posters question, i feel you are going out of your way to be rude.

Anyway to the poster, i also use to have prophetic dreams, and all of a sudden they stop coming- i think it has something to do with me telling too many people and also probably i lost some spirituality. But i really think dream are here to help us all, i don't think that every dream means something, but many dreams show us signs, such as what is happening in our life that we are too busy when we are awake to take it into consideration. Or dreams to warn us about something, or dreams to tell us about the future. People who tend to take dreams for likely don't get to see the beauty of dreams. Dreams are more than just how subconscious mind traveling to settle itself after a busy day. Just because sciencetist cannot give a solid prove/explanation about dreams that does not mean dreams are not beneficial in a spiritual sense. There is a lot more to life than just what sciencetist can prove and there will be things a sciencetist just can never explain because it is beyond he’s control. Anyway I don’t think you have outgrown it, you have a gift I think, and you should try been more spiritual to wake up your 6 sense again. It’s just like animals have a six sense which is far higher than humans, and scienceist will never be able to explain how animals can sense that some natural disaster will strike. But that is the world of spirituality for you right there.  You say that you’re a realist and I don’t know if you believe in God but I think you should pray to him for help with your dreams, it will take a while before he answers you prayer but he will answer you however. And you will start having prophetic dream again. All humans have psychic abilities in some aspect, but a lot of people don’t benefit because they are too busy to be aware of it or they just might not believe. However some people are more intuitive/psychic than others, just as in your case.

As the bible says: And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." Joel 2:28 or Acts 2:17

  3. Prophetic dreams are a gift, but not an easy one. Perhaps you received the dream to warn them, but they didn't heed the warning because they didn't believe God speaks in this way. Same thing with the breakups or divorce, the dream was a warning for them to change. Perhaps they could have had a different outcome if they'd listened. You gave them the information, their reaction to it is their responsibility.

My husband had dreams like this as a child. He called them future dreams. Now that he's grown, he doesn't have them any more, probably because he doesn't believe in that kind of thing.

I wonder sometimes if we don't dream our entire lives but forget it when we wake up. That would explain those deja vu moments in our lives. Maybe you're still having the dreams but no longer choose to remember them. It may be your messages would be better received by the people if they were worded or presented differently, that is if you start having them again.

  4. "I think, therefore I am"

In your case it is just a simple case of negative thinking - the thing you dread if thought of often enough will eventually transpire into a reality. However, on the other hand, positively minded people do not dwell on what might be. Instead they look at what is, deal with move on. What we seek is what we get.

Sorry to burst your little prophecy bubble there but as I have said before and I will say again, reality is boring - mundane.

Therefore some people feel the need to embellish their existence with wild stories of foretelling doom and suffering, seeing apparitions or ghosts, and in some cases relaying fantasies such as speaking to their god or gods as though such things actually exist. Sorry, nope all far more boring than all that. In fact it is oft said that reality is stranger than fiction - how true that is in so many cases.

EDIT: Hmm, the terms "realist" and "prophetic" are oxymoronic.

  5. Well, a quick answer is that you don't have prophetic dreams now because you never did.  You had dreams that might have resembled things that came to pass.  Or you could have remembered dreams differently than they really happened.  Or you could have had dreams that resembled real events much like one object can resemble another when the eyes are taken out of focus.

So the question really should be, "Why can't I remember my dreams any more?"  I don't either.  I don't know if this is hormonal, due to a more restful sleep or if it's just because my life is more boring than it used to be. :-)

  6. i have the gift together with members of my fam  but i don't control it it's not not on the large scale concerning my life and life of people that i care for it comes as a warning or just simple prediction of future event in my life can not explain it can not controle it but it helped me many times

  7. Just be thankful you're not having them anymore! I hate prophetic things!

  8. It's possible your subconscious was affraid of your gift, and closed itself off to it.

Your mind is an incredible thing, and sometimes does things without your permission, you cant always control what you think, or what you do. If you get an itch, you dont generally think,  "i'm going to scratch that.." you just kinda do it.

If your subconscious was affraid or uncomfortable with your gift it's possible it could have just dismissed it and not allowed it to occur as frequently or even at all.

  9. I think it is a phase you are going through. Medications, and food will make a big difference. Are you getting enough sleep repeatedly night after night to have those relaxed dreaming experiences?

  10. It is most likely that you are having your visions blocked. This is because an event of massive consequence is about to happen. This will likely be the Apocalypse event.

  11. Hello

It could be that that phase of your development has passed or that you are more stressed & therefore less likely to have a suitable sleep.
