  1. Why are you not standing in your financial aid office discussing this issue with them?  That is where you should be.  Why you did not get a Pell could be any number of reasons of which no one on the Yahoo community is going to be able to accurately answer for sure.

Run, don't walk to your financial aid office and ask them about your financial aid awards.

  2. Is your EFC above 4000 or do you already have a bachelor's degree?

If you answered yes to either of those then that is why you didn't get a Pell Grant. No ifs, ands, or buts. However, if not then perhaps you should ask a real person at your college and not the Internet.

  3. You need to check your EFC from your student aid report (what you get after you file your FAFSA)  A student must have en EFC of under $4100 to qualify for a PELL grant.  If your EFC went up from last year, you may not be eligible any longer.  If you EFC is still under $4100, then you need to contact your Fin. Aid Office immediately, as there must be some mistate.

If you answered incorrectly on the question on the FAFSA that asks if you will have a Bachelor's Degree by July 1, 2008, indicated you were working a Master's Degree or 2nd bachelor's, these would all keep you from being awarded a PELL grant.  If you did make one of these mistakes,  you will need to make a correction to your FAFSA.

    Good luck

  4. I dont know if is the same situation... but there was a budget cut on grants being offer by the state in california... that might be ur situation since the same thing happened to me.. But my school covered me up with a University grant.
