I/ve found on both sides of the family 2different uncles that each seem to have had 2different wives .?

They seem to be at the same time ,but if you look close the names are different but the births and deaths are the same what gives how does this happen?

  1. If you are searching the LDS archives there are mistakes made. Whoever enters the information off the family group sheets was probably tired that day and didn't notice the mistake. My wife had the same problem her mom was married to her grandfather according to them. We had to resubmit documentation to get it fixed.


  2. This can happen quite easily. it depends on who transcribed the original documents and deciphered the writing, or if it is from a census or immigration list, sometimes the people simply gave their names to the official and they wrote down what they heard...

    I have found some amazing variations. If these names you mention are from some time back, see if you can actually look at the original documents or microfilms. If not, I would accept that they are the same people, but make a note in your files that it is an assumption until verified.
