I ve skipped my periods. It was due on 13th august 2008. is there any chance that I am pregnant ? Also I can feel a strange cramp in abdomen….. Similar one which I usually get when I go through the menstrual. I am gaining wait also. Please advise as its only 1 week late… what should I do ? shall I wait…. How long…

I have to respectfully disagree with one responder... I began gaining weight before I even missed my period - five pounds to be exact.  

That said:  If you haven't started your period within 7 days, then take a pregnancy test.  If you've put off testing because money's tight - know that even the cheapest pregnancy tests are incredibly accurate when you are pregnant.  (I actually tried one I found at a dollar store when I was pregnant, and it said I was pregnant.)

If you don't start, and you 'fail' your pregnancy test, then it could be stress caused you to skip your period.

You don't gain weight just like that in pregnancy...you don't even notice it until way later on...If you have the nerve I'd say wait it out....especially if you don't think you are pregnant and your periods are known for being off schedule....if not...I'd say run down to the local drug store and pick up the double box of preg. test kit...do it first thing in the morning where you will have a better reading....good luck....I am praying for you...

If you are having s*x and you missed your period, of course you could be pregnant!  Since you're a week late, take a test.  It's the only way you'll find out for sure.  If it comes back negative, wait another week and test again.  If still negative, visit your doctor.  Good luck!

if you have missed your period and you are sexually active then take a pregnancy test.  good freakin lord you girls are absolutely ridiculous with these questions.
