What's up with the little tent across from it?

The guard said they've been there for 20 years?

  1. Which tent?  The white one on the grounds that processes visitors during the winter or a smaller one in Lafayette Square?  If it is the latter, it's a homeless protester. He has been there for years. They even let him stay during the 9/11 security clampdown.  I forget what he is protesting. It's a valid cause, but I forget.  I'm thinking maybe vets rights?

  2. The woman who lives in the tent is named Concepcion Picciotto and she's a Spanish born American woman. The man is William Thomas and they are having an anti-nuclear peace vigil. They've been camping outside the white house since 1981. They have had a lot of military actions to protest and want the US to get rid of it's nuclear arms.
