  1. I'd try to get as many quotes as possible from different companies, compare them, and decide on the best choice for your needs.

  3. That varies a lot by area.  Contact a local agent and never accept additional commission fees (beyond what is automatically built in).  Some state DOI's have comparison's on rates, but those can be confusing.  You can try GEICO and Progressive as well, but they represent only one company.  

    Beware filling out internet forms, unless you want 5 agents calling within about 7 minutes.
