  6. Not knowing where you are, if you are in the US, pick up a "Farmers Almanac". I get one as a Christmas gift every year and it is the best thing to have when trying to sort out info like best planting times. Also, it has a great number of articles that I find, every time I pick it up threw the year, to be informative and entertaining. Surprisingly, they have a better correct prediction than your local weather service, and it's printed annually. If you are not in the US and don't have a comparable service, then a good gardening resource book with zones and dates, is indispensable. Keep track of success and failure on your own calender and keep it/ update it year to year. Share it with others and keep their notes also. Good luck and great success and fun!
