  1. Canadian currency is the responsibility of two institutions:

    1)  The Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg, Manitoba which

    makes the coins

    2) The Bank of Canada located in Ottawa, Ontario and is responsible for the paper money.  They contract the printing of the notes to two security printing companies, Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited and BA International Inc.  Not sure where they're located.

Ages to: Vote - 18; Drive - 16 in Ontario but varies by province; Buy liquor - 19 in Ontario but again, varies by province

The Premier of Ontario is Dalton McGuinty

The Prime Minister of Canada is Stephen Harper, although this will be changing with the next federal election in October, thank God!

The Governor General of Canada is Michaëlle Jean.

The mayor of Mississauga is Hazel McCallion.

Good luck in Canada!  You'll love it here!

  2. Candian coins for circulation are made mostly at the mint in Winnipeg.  The mint in Ottawa makes mostly colector coins.  Paper money is printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company, I think the presses are in Ottawa.

18 to vote.  Either 18 or 19 to buy liquor depending on the province.

The Primeminister of Canada is Steven Harper the leader of the Conservative Party.

The mayor of Mississauga is Hazel McCallion.

The Govanor General is Michaëlle Jean.

  3. 1. Paper money is made by the Bank of Canada. Coins are made by the Royal Canadian Mint, as far as I know. Google it.

    2. 18 to vote, 16 to drive, 19 to buy booze (in most provinces)

    3. Prime Minister is Stephen Harper, though we're going to have an election this fall by the looks of things, so that might change. I have no idea who the mayor of Mississauga is.

    4. Michaëlle Jean

  4. Welcome to Canada! We are mostly friendly law abiding folks here. You may have to get used to our spelling and saying 'eh'.

  5. Here's another thing: the mosquito is our national bird.
