if you are old enough just go online and buy one off the internet.

and i think that would only be a minor minor minor offence if it is illegal.

you should google your question. Are Airsoft Guns Illegal in Australia? I'm sure you are bound to find a direct link to laws there.

Airsoft guns are illegal in Australia, but you can use rocks, or in a drastic case, fireworks. You could also put a statue of sorts around there to act as a scarecrow. I have no idea of the turnout of the last suggestion, but the first two should work.

Airsoft guns are federally banned, although Airsoft Australia have made significant progress in legalisation and are expecting a December 2008 final decision on the proposed bill.

If you cant obtain an airsoft gun you should  make ( or buy) a slingshot or bow and arrow. Takes a little bit more skill but it will scare or kill the birds just as well. Or just throw stones at them to scare them away.
