I wanna be a designer. can you help?

I've recently settled on the decision that i want to be a fashion designer.

I signed up for an apparel design class at my school, but i don't know where to begin. what do i do to become a designer? is there anything special i need to do to get into a good fashion school? I'm currently a sophomore in high school and i don't know where to get started. Can anyone help me or give me some tips.

you have to be creative, and aware of past, present and future fashion. time to start reading books about fashion, and mags like vogue, etc.
