I wanna be a singer!?

Question

i want to be a singer and persue a career in it but parents dont support that idea. so i therefore have no help in doing anything to get discovered. what is there that i can do to get myself out there? besides putting stuff on youtube and myspace and stuff like that. i dont have good recording equipment so sending anyone a cd would just make me look like a fool. What can i do? any suggestions on getting my parents to change their minds? help!!

sit down and talk to your parents about it. explain to them its your passion, its what you live for. get a good recording system.(for cd's) make some demo cd's and give 'em out at music companies. act like its normal, like you hand them out everywhere, tell them to contact you.(do hand them out everywhere) you will eventually be discovered!and keep singing!try different types of singing.keep singing whenever your walking around the house or anywhere.maybe your parents will see that your serious...GOOD LUCK!
