  1. Find a spouse so that you can be a citizen.

  2. Finding a spouse isn't as easy as it may sound.  The folks in charge these days are looking very carefully at international marriages to make sure there isn't anything amiss...

If you're coming here on an F-1 visa, you'll want to talk to the International Student Advisor at your university.  They'll have literature and information that is most up-to-date.

I would look at getting a job in the US through a company that would apply for your green card for you.  Once you have that, the process to apply for citizenship becomes clearer.  It has to do with spending a certain amount of time in the US, behaving yourself, and then testing.  It's fairly complex.

In the meantime, check out the websites below for more information.

  3. The easiest way is to get married, but that can be difficult if you're too busy studying to find love.

The other option for F-1 students is to "take advantage of Optional Practical Training (OPT) once the degree is completed as a full time employee."

For more information on the requirements for applying for the OPT, check out this site from Yale University: http://www.oiss.yale.edu/visa/f1opta.htm

  4. Do you want to be North American?  Central American?  South American?
