I wanna be an auctioneer?

do you need any particular qualifications to be an auctioneer or antique valuer, i really wanna work in that field but dunno whther i need to go to a uni instead of my 6th form! please help me thank you

You need to talk with people who run antique shops. Make sure it is a nice shop with furniture- not a junk store with, well, all kind of junk! Ask them if they can give you a name/number of an auctioneer to talk with. They should be able to give you valuable resources.

Remember, not all auctioneers talk fast and wear a cowboy hat! Christies is a huge company that auctions millions of dollars of items. It is a very "proper" action! Decide which kind of auctioneer you want to be and go out and talk with people who practice the type you are interested in. Believe me, they are some of the nicest people and they will be delighted to answer questions and help you out!
