  1. If someone else is paying it seems to me that they should have the right to buy what they want.

  2. yeah, dont become one, i think you mean vegan because vegetarians can drink milk

i dont know how you can live without meat

  3. vegitarians can eat/drink milk, just not meat.

vegans cant eat any animal byproducts (milk, eggs, cheese, etc.)

    stick to it.

  4. be a real american and go lift some weights, and get ya a huge steak.

  5. Move to California or New York, its like veggietown over there, practically every store I know in LA specializes in vegetarian like themes.

  6. okay. maybe you should learn how to use full stops, then consider vegetarianism.

but, you can still drink milk if your a vegetarian. its a vegan diet that doesn't allow animal produce.

  7. i relate, my mom doesnt know i throw out her meat

ive been doing it for a year

oh and if your veggie you can eat chocolate, unless your VEGAN which is no animal by products

KFC slaughters chickens by beating them, jumping on them....

oh and twix, starburts, m&m, mars, skittles ETC> animal test... i even called MARS the owning company, they admit it

  8. you gotta buy in your own food...you can still have chocolate an milk an stuff, you lose that if you go Vegan...

i'm newb to all the vegi stuff...but its easy enough if you research what foods you can have, you don't really lose alot.

  9. Stop relying on convenience food and pay more attention to what you're putting in your body. It's easy to be veg then.

  10. by your on food ....and ur almost 18 so u can move out and eat your own stuff and only if your a vegan you cant eat those candy .....

  11. If you want to, stick to it. Becoming a vegetarian can be difficult as we all know we are surrounded by fast food on every street corner. If you really want to become a vegetarian, don't let anyone stop you, including your parents or other family members.

My friend recently decided to become vegetarian because of all the chemicals the food producers put in meats. Her family ate meat in some form almost every night, so she had to get her own food to eat at the dinner table.

Regarding not eating or drinking any dairy products, this is entirely up to you. My friend only does not eat any type of meat, she drinks milks and eats chocolate. The vegetarian type where you don't eat meat or any dairy products is referred to as vegan. For example, nut, grain or soy milks can be used to replace cow's milk and eggs can be replaced by applesauce or commercial starch-based substitute products, depending upon the recipe.

  12. Good for you!

Being a vegetarian is different from being a vegan--so you will continue to be able to consume foods such as dairy products.

Most importantly, be healthy and do what you feel is right for you...It is difficult to stand up for yourself when your family does not support you.

Check this website and educate yourself as much as possible.

  13. You can eat chocolate with milk in it if you want to be a vegetarian. It is only vegans that do not eat any animal product such as milk, eggs, etc. Vegetarian's choose only not to eat meat.

And do it. It's your life, your parents will have to accept it. At the end of the day, nobody can force you to eat meat if you genuinely do not believe in it.

  14. you want to be a veggie? like a carrot and celery? haha. im just kidding. you just have to be devoted to your beliefs and your family has to accept that.

  15. By "veggie" I'm assuming that you mean vegetarian not vegan. If you want to become a vegetarian you can still have milk, but not if you become a vegan. Vegan's can't have milk, eggs or anything that comes from animals. My sister and I are both vegetarians and have been for several years, and it does place a strain on the family, especially when it comes to eating out, and it cost extra money for your family to buy different foods for you than for the rest of the family.

I would say if you really want to, then go for it.

  16. Ask your parents to buy you some vegetables when they buy food, or get a job and buy and cook your own food to prove a point to your parents. Chocolate contains milk, it would help if you read the ingredients label on food items.

Under source is a link to a vegetarian cooking show that you can download and put on your ipod for free.

  17. I wouldn't become a veggie.  They don't have the same organic functions as mammals and you will cease to live.  You are human, live with it.

  18. When you are  a vegitarian the only thing you dont eat is meat.  When you are a vegan you dont eat any animal prodocts (milk, eggs, or anyfoods containingthem.)

  19. Are you going vegetarian or vegan?  There are different types of vegetarianism which allow for exceptions of certain meat/dairy products, (like you would still eat fish or eggs or milk, etc.), but vegans don't eat any of them.  Decide what exactly you want to cut out of your diet, and go for it.

If your parents don't quite get it, explain to them your reasons for not wanting to consume those products, and ask politely that they help accomodate your dietary needs.  Be mature about it, and hopefully they will understand.  Even KFC has potatoes and cole slaw, right? =)

  20. you can improvise your diet. still eat your candy

  21. Just eat heaps of the veggie side dishes at dinner. STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE! Refuse to touch that dead chicken. Even if they detain you at the table till you "finish" keep saying you're not going to eat that dead flesh. Bring up animal cruelty and slaughter house debates at the conversation. Best yet, make them lose their appetites. If they knw where those heaps of flesh they eat every day come from and go through, they might think about it. Hey, if a disease finally spreads from cows or chicken, you'll be the only healthy person. ha-ha.

    Eventually, they'll get the message.

  22. you want to become vegetarian or vegan...

cause if you want to become vegetarian you can eat dairy products....if you want to become vegan then you can't....

(is suggest you become vegetarian first,...you don't want to shock your system by becoming vegan from one day to the other)

(also, been vegan is hard...remember that been vegan is a life style....you can't eat jello, you need to buy special make-up, special shampoo etc.)

  23. You can eat chocolate bars.  It is vegans that don't eat dairy not vegetarians.  They are being very un-supportive.  Do your own shopping and cook your own meals when they buy KFC.

  24. Here's my 2 Cents.

The meat in the store is already dead.  Wherever it is, it has already been killed.  If you don't buy it, the grocery store will throw it out, and it will go wasted (the animal died for nothing)  The grocery stores amount of meat that they buy isn't a result of how much they sell- If you don't buy it, they will throw it out when it has passed the best-buy date. Just because you buy it doesn't mean they will kill more, it will just be respectful to the animal by not letting it go to waste.

Additionally, eating no meat is very unhealthy.  Your hair can fall out, and its just not necessary.

I admire your want to help the animals, but it will really be for no use.

It's your decision in the end, but I would just move on, just be yourself and just be happy.

    Good Luck,
