  1. man who cares...ur name was given to u from the start wats the point of changin it now..its not like its gona make a difference. ppl dont care wat ur name is

  2. Changing one's legal name is not the easiest of things to do; when it comes to many things, simply going by the name Katie is probably sufficient. If you do want a legal name change, apply at a state court, and preferably get your parents' approval; with approval, it's quite likely that they'll let you.

For school purposes, of course, it's the school that matters. Ask your teachers if they'll let you sign papers as Katie (if not, there's always just K.), and ask whoever's behind the yearbook if they'll put you in as Katie. For bonus points, after you've tried that, go to the office and ask if they can change your official records to say Katie.

  3. You do nothing.  Your parents would.  Each state has different laws/rules pertaining to legally changing your name.  So, it would be hard to inform you what your parents would have to do.

Plus, I am sure your parents are not willing to do this since they named you what they wanted to name you when you were born.

Usually, you have to indicate why you want your name changed, pay a few hundred dollars, list it in the newspaper, etc.  Since you are not of legal age, you cannot petition the court.

Lastly, legally, you cannot "sign" Katie because this is not your name.
