If u have the ATM card , u can use it to check ur balance

In case you have internet banking facility than it is possible provided you are registered with the source.

On phone you will not get any response as this is a confidential information only released to the account holder and on phone there is no system of identification unless you have a code allotted.

Best is to send your pass book for update, or send a letter to the Bank to give you a statement of last 3 months to be posted to your residential address or the address recorded in the books of the bank.

The more easier way is to approach in person but than it is presumed that you are far away from the branch of the bank and not in a position to undertake a personal visit.
