I wanna do ballet?

I'm just scared about what people might think about a guy doing ballet.

I love guy dancers.  If anyone wants to give you sh*t, tell them that how insecure in your masculinity can you be while you're in tights and makeup?  Besides, guy dancers are toned and muscular all over their bodies, not just their arms or legs like most athletes.  Plus they're the nicest people I know, so you know...

Also ladies are more attracted to them.  Just saying.

Girl dancers love guy dancers. I don't get why more guys don't want to dance.. You get to hang out with girls wearing next to nothing all day! Also, if you want to be a professional dancer, you have a much better chance of getting into a professional company, since not many guys dance.

Who cares what people think?  Just follow your heart :)  Some of the best dancers today started in Ballet!! Just because you're taking ballet, that doesn't mean you have to wear tights, a cod piece and/or a tutu :)  Have fun and good luck!

My brother dances and he gets sooo much attention from girls, just follow your heart. You will always not regret not doing it.

a) Some people will think you're g*y.  I can understand that that would be annoying, even if you aren't homophobic.

b) Don't worry about it.

c) If anyone laughs at you, tell them how many ballerinas you're meeting.

d) It's all about dancing for the love of it.  If you really love it, then you'll have to accept that some people will think you like the guys.

Ok Ok I'm a girl and i love to dance!

My best friend dances to and we both have done ballet

i do have to admit when guys wear tights and leotards they look really cute

dont worry about what people think

its your life-your choice

and if people rip you off about being a dancer rip them off about something they dont like

for example if they have buck teeth tell em off about it

but whatever happens just remember-

it not who you are that counts-its who you think you are

If it's something you really wanna do then go for it! Who cares what everyone else says, as long as you're enjoying yourself.  And don't worry, you probably won't be the only guy. There are lots of guys that take ballet.

I had the same problem when I got back in ballet.  The instructor was very surprised to see a male dancer in her ballet class.  And I started back in ballet at 45. I've been in two on stage performances, and now taking the ballet 2 class. At the age of 47 now.   So, don't let anyone scare you away from doing ballet.  If you have the heart and the determination, and the love of dance, just do it.
