  1. Gerbils can do more stuff but if you can get a small pet then i would get a hamster

  2. Well, I have had both, so I'll tell you a little about my experience with them.

Space: Mice are obviously smaller than gerbils and so they need less room. But you should really get them as big a cage to live as possible. A big fish tank would work well for either mice, or gerbils.

Smell: Gerbils pee less and smell less than mice, so you don't need to clean out the whole tank as much.

Numbers: Both mice and gerbils are SOCIAL animals. They like to be with others of their kind. However, if you get male mice they sometimes will fight. (ALSO: male mice have a very strong odor. I personally would stick to a pair, or more, or females if I was to get mice)

Interaction: If you want to get a pet that you can hold and let out of the cage a lot, I would probably go with gerbils They are quite a bit bigger than mice and a LOT easier to hold. Of course, I'm sure it's possible to tame mice better, but mine never really liked being picked up or out of their cage. And if they get loose, it's very hard to pick them up again.

Cuteness: Of course, this is a totally personal thing. I myself wouldn't choose a pet on looks, but hey. They're both cute, but there's just something about cute little mice with their big ears that I just can't resist.

Fun to watch: Both animals can be really fun to watch. (especially if you get more than one)

Chewing: Gerbils chew. A LOT. Don't put anything with a lot of plastic where they can get it, because they will start chewing it up. Some mice chew, too, but in my experience not nearly as much. So, that really opens up more stuff you can put in your mice's cage, and the type of cage you can put them in. For example, I would never put a gerbil in a CritterTrail type of cage with lots of plastic. But you could probably get away with that with mice.

  3. neither. get a hamster. they are better and they are a lot cuter. mice or gerbils are ugly little rats. that's what i think.

  4. mouse gerbils are big

  5. well i have gerbils and hamsters hamsters are very lovable but all breeds have very painful bites and gerbils are easy to train but lets just say they leave u presents if theyre not trained

  6. i would get  a mouse ,because they are easy to tame. And some states its agianst the law to own them.Mice are also easyer to find.

  7. just get a gerbil., they are more easier to tame than Rats.., and a gerbil is a lot more safe pet and more cleaner and easier to groom than rat.., ah.., gerbil is an easy animal to take care of you can just leave him a full food bowl and water for two days., oh.., and Rats might cause you leptuspirosis(i really don't know the correct spelling

  8. Both are cute. Gerbils are a little bigger and more sociable, but mice are smaller and make less of a mess. Mice are a little more hyper and lots of fun to watch. You should google a care guide for each of them and see which one seems like a better pet to meet your needs.

  9. get a mouse because their cute and dont cause that much mess

    like grebils do.

    hope this helps

  10. Ok, just emember, if you get one of those you need to get 2 because they are very social creatures. If you only want 1 pet, a hampster is best.

    Mice

Pros:Small, each mouse only needs 1 sq. Foot each.

come in many  colors, I have only seen gerbils in 2 colors.

    Cute!

    Cons:You need to get 2.

    Gerbils

    Pros:Cute!

Small, but need at least 2 sq. feet each.

Cons:Larger, need cage cleaned more often and they need a larger cage.

Yep, pretty much sums it up!

  11. mice are very tiny and easy to clean up after.

gerbils are bigger and can be messy.

mice might be more active and hyper compared to gerbils but i really don't know.

  12. You can tame a gerbil more then a mouse, but even gerbils can be unsocialble if they arent socialized properly. If it is though you can carry a gerbil around in your breast pocket of your shirt while you're out and they'll just sit there and sleep or relax enjoying the heat of your body, cant do that with a mouse!
