My mom she kept me in public school since preschool all the way through 8th grade. In the middle of 8th grade i got my report card and i got 3 F's and my mom went to talk to my teacher about the issue so she did and she just pulled me right out of public school like that! So i am in 10th now and i have finally decided to go to a real school. My friend across the street she goes to the high school i wanna go to she told me i would fit in but with a school of 3,500 kids um i don't think so! I have A.D.D and with my disorder i am quiet and i don't ask for help or anything. My parents told me i don't think i could survive there and to tell them the truth i don't think i could either. I have until Monday to make a decision and trust me this decision is not gonna be easy. They also told me that i can't drop out of that school and i have to stick with it. I need help with this so much! Anyone have an oppinion. Please no rude answers.

  1. Public school will help remedy those social issues such as you dont ask questions. you have to its a part of learning. and don't worry if the school has 3,500 you WILL find a group that you can connect with. i know its scary at first cuase your taking a big step on your own but trust me you need to go to learn how to make friends and ways to stand out in a crowd. these skill will help you when you trying to apply for jobs in the future and your boss needs to know whats so much better about you than everyone else. Dont worry about A.D.D i think the entire youth of america has it.

  2. tell u mom that u whant to go to school so u can make friends i say u should go girl

  3. Wow, that is kind of tough.  It would be a lot more fun to go to a public school and you could make more friends, but school is about learning.  If you decide to go to public school you will have to make yourself ask for help when you need it or you will fail.  And going to school is about learning and passing, not really about making friends.  So, if you think you can ask for help when you need it and have the back bone to stick with it, then enroll in public schools.  But if you really are shy and quiet you might be better off doing home schooling because school really is about learning and you can make friends later.  Good luck with what ever you decide.

  4. my brother has aDD

when he wasw in high school, they let him graduate with f's and cuts, becasuse of his bad grades, he had no choice but to join the air force, 7 years later, hes gonna be in dentist school next year

i guess you can try showing your parents that you can make it in high school, but thats only a couple of days away

  5. Well, you've said yourself that you don't think you could survive at high school, but you need to think of your future and what's best for you.

  6. Tough call. But, it may be to your benefit to back to high school. I mean, if you can't survive grade 10 in a public school, how can you survive things like employment and what not down the line.

ADD is no excuse. Self control and determination are your own choices.

  7. i think you should be in high school. you need to be around people your age. just try harder in your classes. ask for help when you need it. most high schools after tutoring after school if you are really having trouble with something. high school was one of the best times of my life, enjoy it.

  8. Homeschool rocks...I loved it. I left public school went I was a sophomore.

  9. Dont rely on your diorder as an excuse not to go to high school.. I cant say I know how you feel cause I dont....but just think people are going to be the same way in the real world as they where in high school...so no need to run now...the best way to survive high school is to know who you are and be willing to be that person no matter what....its okay to be scared but your practically grown your life lies in your hands dont give it to anyone else...so I think you should go and experience it all.

  10. ask your parents if you could make a deal. like say mom dad can i go to public school for one semester and if my report card is really bad then you can take back out. and if they don't go for that say you want to experience things that other high schoolers get to experience like homecoming, football games etc. and if you are intersted in sports u can use that for an example like you want to join a team or go into choir etc.etc.. good luck
