Sorghum is part of the family of grasses. Sorghum has various varieties. The principal two production crops are Sorghum Grain and Sorghum Cane. Grain Sorghum grows to an average hieght of 3-31/2ft tall. It will form a grain head approximately 6-8 inches long with tiny small grains. It is widely used in animal feeds and pet foods. It has similar starch and fat content as corn.

Cane Sorghum grows best in lowland humid climates. It can reach up to 10-12 ft in height . It is primarily crushed  and the sweet sap extracted (glucose). The sap is cooked and  generally made into molasses or the liquor rum if fermented and distilled. Lately it is seen as an alternative for corn ethanol as a transportation fuel.

Other varieties are known for their  benefits as forage, silage and hay.

i dont really know what you meen by custom related details, but sorghum is taller than regular corn, and it also has skinnier leaves and a skinnier stem
