  1. There is probably little nutritional difference between fresh and frozen vegetables. The nutrient content of frozen vegetables can be higher or lower compared with the fresh equivalent. It can be higher because the vegetables destined for freezing may have been picked at peak condition and frozen immediately after harvesting. In comparison, 'fresh' vegetables may lose some nutrients during transport and storage prior to purchase and subsequent cooking.

Frozen vegetables can also lose nutrients if they are blanched prior to freezing. However, because blanching causes some tenderisation, less time is needed to cook frozen vegetables. The length and method of cooking (boiling, pressure cooking, steaming or microwaving) will ultimately have the greatest impact on the nutrient content of the vegetable when it appears on our plates.

  2. They have almost exactly the same health benefits.. maybe SLIGHTLY less because of how they are prepared (the skin is usually removed) but I love eating frozen veggies as a snack~ (still frozen.. like beans!)

Just be aware of the additives.. some contain butter or fats to make them taste better..

  3. Frozen vegetables are nearly as healthy as fresh; and MUCH healthier than canned (which taste terrible).  Just steam them very quickly or, I put them in 1/4" water, cover with waxed paper and microwave a couple of minutes.  You can freeze any of the liquid, and then make vegetable soup from all the frozen liquid later....

  4. my nan said they are

  5. Not really no!

  6. I read in a healthy magazine. (I don't remember the name of the magazine). that frozen vegetables have the same vitamins are fresh vegetables.
