  1. I think that Acoustic would be better to learn from, it's almost tackling the harder things first, the strings are firmer and the bodies chunkier plus they can be a lot cheaper and if you decide oh s***w guitar i want to play drums or whatever you didn't go and waste a few K on a electric guitar you don't want anymore....

Plus you aren't tempted to put distortion and other effects on acoustic... cause you cant really... so to learn your scales and the basics of guitar go a cheaper acoustic and then progressively move onto harder songs and electric guitars if you feel your ready and want to

  2. Acoustic: quieter.

  3. Scenario 1) You want to play electric long-term

    - Start with acoustic. Pros: Your fingers get stronger, which is good for blues and rock styles. You need less equipment and you'll spend less money while you decide if guitar is the right instrument for you. Cons: At the beginning, you won't be as clean when playing the electric, once you switch

Scenario 2) You want to play only acoustic long-term

    - Don't bother playing electric

Scenario 3) You want to be able to play both

    - Start with acoustic, that way the transition to electric will be easier. If you start with electric, it'll take some time to gain strength.

I recommend being able to play both. It opens more possibilities for enjoyment as a musician.
