Hello people, I am planning on learning the drums but I have a doubt...

Some people told me that only the people that can like divide your brain in 4 parts one for each limb.

Is that true, is it possible that I may not have that capasity or it can be acquired??

Also, which brand for drums do you recommend me buying??

  1. buddy, that's "true"

anybody play the drums, but the brain is not used to using all your extremities at the same time at different beats. that's why you "teach" the brain that this is how you play a rock beat, or a latin beat and so forth. if you have the space, here the acoustic drum set:

believe me, it lasted a good while

if you dont have space here's the electronic drumset (dont get scared its exactly the same thing except powered and MUCH  smaller

good luck with the brain surgery

  2. If you're worried about it, take some lessons before plunking down $500 for a drum set. Go to your local music store, and ask who they have giving lessons for newcomers. They probably have a list of teachers, find one you like, and find out if you are too slow for drums.

For most people, the right drums are the ones on Craigslist, at about 25% of retail.

  3. I personally think that anyone can be a drummer, but not too many people can be good drummers... try it out with a few drum lessons and if it's really not for you, well find a new hobby.

And I would check ebay and craigs list for a good priced drum set, but only after you know it's your thing!
