I wanna make my terrarium as live as possible, real leaves, moss, ect, but i dont want to harm my snake?

How would be the best way to make such a tank (65 gallon) (48x18x18)

for a Boa Constrictor..

Max size 6-8 feet

i really want live plants and such...

anyone know anything good in this department?

  1. Most house plants are safe for snakes.  One danger of the more natural setups is that they are also healthy places for parasites like mites to live, and treating a living habitat for mites when you do have a break out is very difficult.

    That said, I think your snake will be happier in a living setup.  Keep in mind that although plants create oxygen during the day, they use oxygen at night, so be sure there is plenty of fresh air circulation from the environment.  

    FYI, when a terrarium contains a live animal, it's called a vivarium.
