  1. You could bake them something, like banana bread or some cookies. But if you want something that will last, how about customizing and decorating some plain picture frames and put a pic of your son holding a sign that says Thank You. You probably know that you can get unfinished wood picture frames at virtually any craft store, and you and your son can decorate them with paint, ribbons, beads, whatever!

ETA: This is really wonderful of you. I know that teachers do a thankless job sometimes, and it's so nice of you to want to give them something for your appreciation. I love it when I get little gifts from parents and children.

  2. I usually make a blanket or small throw for my family and friends. It is real easy and takes maybe 30 min. to make. First go to Wal-mart or somewhere and buy 2yards of fleece material for the top and get another 2yds. for the bottom. Go home and spread the bottom out on the floor or bed. Put the top piece of material on top of the bottom piece. Get a pair of scissors and cut slits into the material about the lenght. of your finger, make a space between the slits about an inch and a half between each. Get the top piece and the bottom piece that you just cut and tie it in a knot keep doing this all the way around the material. when you get to the end you have a blanket made with no sewing.

  3. Try some handmade bracelets you can get cool nice beads at any craft store the beads are made of crystal, quartz, precious gemstones . You can also try to find out their birthdates so that you can make one of their exact birthstone. You can find several examples of beading on the internet. Good Luck.

  4. make them a little zen garden. buy some sand, some nice flat boxes, and little rakes and then have your son find little stones to put in each one.
