  1. anyway.. a 10 gallon is really very small and you're limited to one rather small fish

    1 clownfish

    or

    1 gramma

    or

    1 damsel

    or

    1 goby etc

  2. Salt Water is A LOT of work, I mean A LOT!!!!  Go to Petco and talk with the aquatic specialist.

  3. What you need to be researching are "nano tanks" - And yes there are several species that can live in a ten gal.

Many Goby species (Watchman, neon blue goby, catalinas, among others)

    Clown fish (Ocellaris)

    Firefish

    Damsel fish

    Most Inverts

and my personal favorite - Yellowhead Jawfish

I have 2 nano tanks - 6 gallon with some live rock, a few snails and a Blue Devil Damselfish. I also have a 15 gal with lots of sand and rubble

    and 3 yellow head jawfish.

I warn you though - nano reefs are HARD to care for. You have to be VERY VERY careful and monitor everything closely - changes happen fast. Ammonia can spike over night and kill off the entire system. In the wild the ocean is a very very stable system. Most newbie salt water enthusists will have better luck with a larger tank.
