  1. I suggest that you dont even go to a city. All Perth has nothing, and all Sydney has is a Harbour, Opera House and a bridge. I live in Melbourne and i went to Sydney 2 years ago and it was terrible. It was crowded. Go to a nice seaside town on the East Coast ( Great Barrier Reef) and snorkel, Scuba dive or go fishing. Or go to Ayers Rock in Uluru. Its 10x better than being in a crowded, smelly, polluted city.

  2. Perth is more different. Sydney is just like a regular city... so you'll experience more in Perth.

  3. Sydney is my home town but have lived in Perth for 8 years now, would never go back. Sydney is fantastic if you want to see the stuff you see on tv, Perth is a natural beauty you need to see yourself. For the bleeping idiot that thinks Perth is flat, have we never seen the Bungle Bungles, Kununnurra, Albany etc??

  4. Definately sydney. It's my home town, and without being biased, its an amazing place. The diversity is fantastic. There are bohemian towns (surrey hills), a busy and alive city (sydney city), landmarks (harbour bridge etc), world-famous beaches (like bondi), bushland, suburbia, and much more, all in about a 20 minute radius. There's so much more to do in sydney. It's a reflection of this awesome country (and not to mention my favourite city in the world). Perth is ok... pretty relaxing, but a bit boring. Not much to do really. Its kind of a nothing town. I wouldnt waste a holiday to australia going to perth. Melbourne and Sydney are your best choices. Hope this helps! enjoy your stay! Email me with anything you want to know about sydney.

  5. You will have a good experience in both cities, though my advice would be to choose Sydney. Why? Simply because the countryside is more spectacular in the area. Sydney is surrounded by interesting places. Perth is surrounded by flat dry countryside with nothing much to see except more of the same flat nothing for a couple of thousand kilometres in every direction. Ok, some people will disagree with me, sure, but compared to Sydney, there is really not AS MUCH to see around Perth.

  6. If you want beautiful country and beaches, go to Western Australia. If you want things to do and see Go to Sydney.

  7. Both cities have unique qualities..

Perth is a beautiful place, especially if you plan on hiring a car and driving  (a lot) to see the different areas south of the city. Perth and the surrounding areas are very quiet areas, although beautiful.

Sydney, you will find more to do.. it's a more exciting city for visitors. It's more expensive than Perth, but  you'll fill up 15 days easily, and enjoy every minute!

  8. My recommendation to people visit Australia is Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast. What are you looking for in a holiday?

Out of your choices, Sydney is better. But perhaps Melbourne or Gold Coast would suit you better. Can you stay a bit longer and do more then one city?

  9. Why go to city at all? Australia is far more than a bunch of tall buildings.

Yo won't see much of Australia at all at that rate.

As a very general guide, Sydney is a city, albeit a small one by world standards, whereas Perth is a somewhat sprawly town.

There are more people on the East coast than the West and hence more "city" type of things for a tourist to see and do.

15 days isn't much at all to "experience" anywhere, let alone a country as vast as Australia

  10. Both excellent cities.

If you want more to see and do, definitely Sydney.
