You don't need ideas to write a poem. You just have to know what you want to write about. I write poems to express myself, believe me i don't even have to think about it, i just sit down and evrything starts flowing out.. I enjoy it!

I think you should write poems against the industry of premming (I use the verb "prem" instead of "love" because the latter has a sacred meaning and shouldn't be used to denote the mean sexual passion. Think how Shakespeare used the word.).

get a pen & pad..seat on a comfertable chair close your eyes & den start thinking n write whtevr cmes in ur mind...

If you want to write a poem very badly, read some of the ones posted on this site. There's more than a few very badly written poems for you to consider.

write about things that are close to your heart, or about what you're feeling, or about your views on something.

be sincere. it must come from within. sometimes it's the free flow of thoughts that makes the poem more personal and unique. not to mention original :p

Many things happen during the whole day, some of them either touch the heart or pinch it. Write on it.

Day1-First get a topic to write,  think for a whole day (do not write)

Day2-think for making your idea more beautiful(do not write)

Day3-choose ryming words (not the usual ones) use all your word power here, think synonyms etc and decide which words are best

then, that night when everything is calm around switch all lights off except your table lamp then use a scribbling pad

write everything you thought of and then arrange it in sequence, modify it if required use dictionary or thesaurus if you

are not getting good words and then..TADA>>>>>>you got a poem

it is my own poem. like that u can write and even better than this.u can write poems on ur friends, ur child hood etc. read some famous books like geetanjali written by Rabindranath tagore to get some ideas
