  1. When I graduate, I'm going to get a couple bottles of wine, and cry at the fact that those years were an utter bore, deprssed, loney waste....And of course, as always, I'd look all around me, and to no surprise, I'd be crying alone, and only to have my own hand to pat on my back....

  2. I know a girl who did that at the local high school, she didn't have any problems what-so-ever. I would think it wouldn't be a big deal, you'll just have to tolerate your dumbed down peers :)

  3. c if you can participate in the graduation ceramony at your local school

  4. Sure, you can do the walk in Austin!  Check out the link below.

    Be well.

  5. I am thinking of doing somthing like that this year look for a homeschool groop that is doing one

  6. Is there a home school group in your area that holds a graduation ceremony? Look into some and see if you can participate in one.

Edited to add: We are throwing a party for my brother and 2 others that he is graduating with. The three boys are in a youth camp for troubled teens and they home school the students. It is planned to be a family reunion type thing for all three families at the same time so that the boys are surrounded by their families and can celebrate their accomplishments.

  7. You don't need to change programs for that. Join a local homeschool support group or co-op and participate in their graduation ceremony, or attend the state homeschooling convention and graduate there (most state conventions usually have a grad night). Or you can do what I'm doing. I'm having a completely individual grad ceremony/party. Invite all your friends and family (send out personalized graduation invitations) and have it either at your house, or rent out a banquet hall or convention center or meeting room or smething. Decorate and set up displays of projects you've done or great work you've done, or a slide show of photos taken since you started homeschooling that highlight some of the best moments of your homeschool years. Choose a few favorite songs to play in the background while everyone is enjoying the displays/slides. Once everyone is assembled, your parents, a friend or two, or a community member who worked with you as a homeschooler or knows you well can give a short speach, then you walk up to be presented your diploma (your parents can present it to you. If your program doesn't issue one, your parents can for this purpose as colleges don't care about ti and this is really the main purpose for it anyway), and then you can say a few words too if you want, and then afterwards just have a big party with food and good music and your friends. If you have a yearbook or feel like creating one, now would be a good time to get friends to sign it, or you can create a huge poster with some pictures or memorable scraps on it for people to sign. There are also websites where you can purchase diploma folders that you can personalize with the name of your homeschool (or just your name) and the date of graduation, your own cap and gown to wear in the colors of your choice, invitations, and so on. Your graduation is about you. You don't have to share it with a bunch of other graduates if you choose not not, and you can make it however you want.

  8. If you contact your school board they might be able to be able to clear you for walking with your class.  I homeschooled in Florida and was able to walk with my class, which I went to elem, and middle school with.

    Good Luck
