why do you need such a small size? the absolute smallest you can go if you want to breed successfully is a 10 gallon, but i think they'd prefer a 15 or 20.

The smallest any tank should get is 10 gallons.

They're easiest to maintain, and best for small fish.

If you MUST have something smaller, 5 gallons is the absolute smallest limit.  Even then, it's not the best situation for the guppies, especially once they start breeding.  3 fish is the limit in a 5 gallon.  You won't be able to keep/raise ANY of the babies.  If you got a 10, you could raise the babies in a net brooder, keep a few and find the rest new homes.

Which ever you decide, you'll need a gentle filter, an airpump and proper food.
