I'd set up a blog about search engine optimization and start posting on it.

Once I got it to ranking and getting some good traffic I would use it as a reference to start talking with some companies. Or hit the SEO forums and see what you can find.

http://www.webworkshop.net has a forum that has a lot of UK SEO's that hang out on it.

Well that's easy. There's a temp agency, local ads in your newspaper in the region of the UK you will live/work in, and of course the internet.

Since I don't live in the UK, I'm not familiar with the UK versions of what we get here in the united states but try the London Times (for london and its surrounding areas), monster.co.uk, or do a search in your favorite search engine for "job uk" or "apply for a job uk" or "apply for a job in uk westchester" and replace westchester with whatever the town/village/county/city name you're going to.
