That really depends on your experience level, what you are planning on doing with the horse, etc etc.  If you are extremely experienced, you may want a younger horse, with little training, in the 3-4 year old range, but if you're asking this, you probably aren't very experienced.  So, I would look for an older horse.  The specific age would not be as important as the training and temperament.  If you are a real beginner, look for a settled, 'bombproof' horse to learn on, probably into their teens somewhere.


  2. I don't know if this is your first horse but if it is, in my experience it is better to get an older horse for your first horse because they will make you more confident in handling and riding him. Arabs are quite flighty breeds and a young horse is more likely to spook and bolt at the slightest thing. If it isn't your first horse and you have alot of experience handling and riding horses then i think that any age is okay as long as they are sound. I hope this helps you!!!
