  1. have you sold your old bike? if so take that money to the bank and get a loan. also most people who buy a super bike on credit later drop it, sell it etc and take a HUGE loss, like in the multiple thousands.  your better off to buy it flat out. if you dont currently ride, and dont have the 9grand, this is a great opportunity to get yourself a 90's YZF, CBR etc for around 3-4 grand less than half the cost. and get used to riding. money dosent grow on tree's, and nothing comes easy in life. work and buy what you can afford, thats my advice

  2. Don't get it financed.  And don't buy brand new.  Save your money all through basic training & buy a used bike with the money you save.

A new bike will depreciate faster than you can make the payments.  A used bike will keep it's value better.  Not to mention that you can probably buy a used one from a military person who is going overseas & needs to sell it cheap.

Remember, just because you CAN, doesn't mean you should.

  3. get a used one. build credit. then buy a new one

  4. A larger down payment will sometimes work.

  5. Wait until you're in the service, and have passed basic training.

    1. You'll be sent to your first training school, which may be in another state. Will you have the bike there?

    2. Once in, finance departments LOVE to see that you have job security. You can set up automatic payments and they also know your command will ...discourage you....from missing payments. (It looks bad on the Navy).

    3. If you're in a situation where you'd need a cosigner, it's probably not a good idea anyway. Cosigning is for people who don't have established credit, and the responsibility is transferred onto someone else. Don't do that to a friend or family member! Advice: save up for a huge downpayment. It will give you negotiating power in the showroom; lowering the price, and will help get your credit started.
