Question:

I want a cool living room?

I'm moving out of my apartment and buying a new home. First I want to focus in the living room since it's the most viewed area. Right now I have red curtains and a red sofa (with the cushions in different colors) but I'm getting rid of it to get a set of 2 in a solid color. They'll either be RED, BLACK or BEIGE. I still want some red accents, and I'd love to paint at least one wall but I don't seem to put my ideas together. I just want some suggestions. What color to mix with all this and what should be that color?

The lamps, coffee and end tables would be black, so I was thinking beige couches with red pillows and a rug area or something like that, but what about the wall?

  1. Get a wall sculpture or wall hanging (fabric hangings on a pole are lovely and warm feeling)

A huge red accented painting with texture looks good to

Use sculpture lights and color lights to accent a wall

  2. paint one wall red and the other three a nice beige color, make sure the red is a calm and not powerful one. get a beige couch and red and black pillows. put some nice pictures in a black frame on the walls, and use candles to make the room look suttle.

  4. Well, you could always do red walls if you're going with a beige couch. If that's too bold for you, maybe you could swap and do beige walls with red sofas. OR, if you have an area for it, you could have a red accent wall (if you've got one that's a bit smaller in width than the others), and do the rest beige.

I like the color scheme, and picturing it, I think it would look great, no matter which direction you go with it!
