  1. Get a fish, name it waffles, and make it the happiest fish ever. Always feed it on time, etc. Show your parents to trust you! Or you could get a hamster and pretend it's a mini-dog. If your parents are thinking about letting you get a dog, look on websites for small dogs with good tempraments.

  2. Sweetie, if you want your parents to think you are responsible you have to prove it to them. Try taking care of a neighbors of friends dog to show them that you will take good care of one of your own. I would recommend a small breed for where you live.

  3. you can't. They have said no and no means no.

  4. I like these answers, but I REALLY like the one about the fish!! I have had a billion cats (only two right now), some birds, and I currently have three dogs. But I LOVE MY FISH. And it's really hard to take care of the tank and the fish and all that, so it's a big responsibility, too. :)

  5. A lot of parents don't allow their children to have pets, especially a dog. First you need to talk to your parents and ask them the reasons why they don't want you to get one. They usually have their own opinions and reasons you wouldn't understand, so don't get frusterated just let them explain. Tell them all the pros and cons and write a pursuasive paragraph. Say something like..."I know you think I will forget to take care of him/her, but I promise I won't hang out with friends or go anywhere until I walk him/her, feed him/her, take care of him/her, etc." Prove to them how responsible you are...do some chores, babysit for other dogs in front of them, etc. Research all the good things about dogs and print it out. Get your friends with dogs to give your parents reasons why  they are fun to have and why you should get one. Tell your parents that you will do chores to pay for the dog food and supplies, tell your parents that she/he will go on a walk every day, how many times a day she/he will be fed, where she/he will sleep at night, etc. Tell your parents that you will get a small dog so that it doesn't take up so much space and isn't too hard to handle. Explain your reasons for wanting a dog and compromise on the things you must do in order to get one. Tell them that it will be a Christmas/Hanukkah/Birthday gift. Promise to take care of the dog. Make a deal that you won't ask for any other pets.

    Good luck!

  6. i have two dogs and there s**+-poos( a mix between a shitzu and a poodle) they are adorable and really friendly. They are a smaller dog ranging from about 15-20 pounds! so they could live inside but just remember you need to take them on walks and let them run if there is not much room in your yard! they come in all sorts of colors mine are black and white and there my fav. out of all the ones i've seen!!

to help convince your parents be really helpful and offer to do stuff. hint at that you want a dog really bad but dont be pushy and beg!

    hope this helps!

  7. move out

  8. i was just like you, and i wanted a dog. my parents are very strict and they had said no. so i decided to dogsit a neighbors dog for two weeks. I took care of it every day and walked it. after promising that i would keep doing so, my parents let me get one.

I also wanted a small dog. I got a miniature pinscher. shes really sweet, has never bitten anyone, and doesnt shed. she is perfect! one would be fine living in a town house!

  9. Looks like your going to have to wait until you get your own place!

  10. i asked my dad for a dog since i was five, i got one ten years later. you cannot convince your parents that you are resposnsible enough, because actions are stonger than words. you have to prove that you are. clean up after yourself, help around the house, save up your money, just incase anything happend to the dog, your parents know you can pay for some or all of it. buy a dog book, go online and learn about dogs, watch tv shows about dog training and things. i did this and my dad realized that i really was ready for one. he got me a shih tzu, a small, smart, nice dog. his name is toby. my vet and groomer say i am very responsible, and my dog is very well behaved, and for me to keep up my good work. it is A LOT of work, i don't know if your parents will help, but my dad doesn't help with my dog, so i'm on my own. if you do end up getting one, i would recomend shih tzu or beagle. shih tzu because they are small and smart, and loyal. they are great, they also dont shed. but because they dont shed, you have to really care for their hair, brushing daily, bathing every other week, taking it to the groomers every 3 months. a beagle is loyal, smart and cute, but they shed, but their hair is very low mainatnece. go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and you can find out more there. don't get a dog if your not ready because your parents might give your dog away, and that isnt the best thing to do, so make sure you are ready. good luck.

  11. blah blah blah...SO freaking sick of this dead horse!

  12. your parents probably know that they will end up taking care of it.

  13. i would say a guinea pig but alot of people are allergic to them but they dont know it.

    Id say get a kitten!

They are sweet and love to cuddle

  14. get a guinea pig.

  15. First of all, ask yourself this, is your family going through any changes? Are you going through a hard time? Consider these questions and determine if this is the right time to acquire a dog.

If you want a dog, go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and take the breed test. It will show what dog breed is fit for your home.

Next, do research on the breed of dog that best suits your home. Make a chart with a schedule of when to feed it, groom it, walk it, take it to the vet, etc. Be honest, tell your parents the pro's and con's of owning a dog.

Then, you need to get money. No parent likes to pay for an extra mouth to feed. If you're too young for a job, hold a garage sale, or do some other sales to raise money. Locate a good vet that's within a town. No parent likes to drive a long way to take the dog to the vet.

    Good luck.

Tip: Do not whine or complain. This makes you look irresponsible.

  16. I know lots of people that have dogs in apartments and small

houses, the dog will be fine as long as it is walked, sit down

with your parents and talk with them and tell then that A dog

can be house trained and tell them that you will do the walking

and feeding and watering for your dog.
