  1. You basically want a gyro, strong rims, places to stand on the frame, front and rear brakes and brakes under the rear frame (not over it....it would be in the way)  3 piece cranks would be nice if you can afford it...but can be added later.

some advice - buy something cheap and used for now....then learn about what you really want while you (save up ) and ride what you have.

Something like a GT dyno compe can be found for really cheap. you could learn lots of stuff on it while you save up for your nice bike. I got 2 GT's last yr for around 50 bucks.

    Check out craigslist.

or  www.danscomp.com  if you want new.

  2. You're looking for a bike that will withstand the stress that it's going to have to take. Frames should be heavy gauge steel. Rims should be wide and strong with 48 spokes. Tires should be smooth and wide. You should have front and rear pegs. Front and rear brakes should have detangling systems so you can spin the handlebar around.

  3. Haro! The best bikes for freestyle. You definitely want something with support, specially if your going for tricks. The wheels on Haro's are extra wide for precision balance. The frame needs to be sturdy but lightweight. A gyro would be a plus.
