  1. lol sounds like me, well I did the bad thing and lied about getting mine, but I wrote a perswasive essay, on how I will care for them, and how I will do everything in my power to help and such

  2. Say these words:

"Mom, I love you very much and I know how difficult it's been raising me over the years. I may have at times proved myself irresponsible and inadequete to the task of caring for others. However, I do feel that the time in my life has come where I am ready to start accepting my responsibilities in this world and start the trek into mature adolescence and later on, adulthood.

In order to better attain this goal, I feel it would be most prudent to invest in my future development by allowing me to take home a small creature to better hone the skills of life, caring and duty.

Hamsters might be a good start; as they are small, clean, sweet and intelligent. It could stay in my room of course and I promise that little {Insert Name of future Hamster} will be my number one priority every single day. I pledge to clean his cage, change his food & water and make sure he's happy and healthy. You will never once have to touch his cage mom, for this I swear to god. He will be my responsibility.

As I know that you want the best for me as my loving mother, it is my greatest hope we can resolve this dispute with equanimity and concern for all parties involved. Thank you for your time. I love you"

Then bat your eyes and smile. It's kryptonite to most mothers.

If that doesnt work, then save your money from birthdays, holidays, etc..(you'll need about $100, more or less) and side step her. Go to Dad, uncle, aunt, grandparent... whomever and state your case to them. Once you got it, she cant exactly throw it away!

If that's not feasible then beg her for a pet tarantula or pet snake (which ever scares her more)... I have feeling she might have a different view of hamsters if you start showing her pictures of your new pal "buggy" the eight legged wonder.

If none of that works, then ignore her. I mean really... not one single word to her... for months, years if need be! The only phrase you should utter is "my development has been stifled".

Then look sad and lean your head against the wall like Charlie Brown used to do.

Good luck kid. But if you can pull that first thing I said off... you should be golden (pronounce the words right and practice!)

  3. Your mom probably doesn't think you can handle a hamster! Duh! Do research and shower her with facts. Plus you can offer to pay for it. You could pretend you seriously want a lizard or somthing nasty and she might change her mind.

I don't know if a ten year old can handle a pet like that. Your mom might end up taking care of it because you will eventually neglect it. That's what she may think.

  4. Well if she doesnt think you will take care of it u can save up money but a cage and stuff and get a stuffed animal and pretend to feed it and give it water every day to show her ur responisble enough and go to ur library and research all about them thats what i did

  5. You may just have to be patient, honey.  I wasn't allowed a hamster until I was 15.

But if you are really determined, you need to show her that you can be responsible.  Help with cleaning up, setting the table, doing extra chores to show how responsible you can be.

And don't constantly nag her either, parents tend to say no more often than not if all they hear from you is "Please please can I have a hamster please!!" :)

  6. u dont get a hamster duh!

  7. Do some research on the internet, about what to feed them, how to take care of them, etc.  Then present this to your mother, and hopefully it will show your mother that you are responsable enough to take care of the hamster. Also, helping out around the house with chores can help with this as well. Good luck, dear!
