I want a hamster really bad, but my parents won't let me?

Question

My parents say that hamsters are like rats/mouse, and no one likes them. But I love them, and my mom says it will stink up the whole house.

My parents just won't let me get one. And now that it's summer-time im going to be bored, and my mom wont get me a hamster.

So, my question is how can I get my mom to see that I reall want a hamster, and that I am ready for one?

My mom knows im responsible, so I don't have to show her that.

^^ Hamsters only stink if you don't clean there cages, which I am sure you will because its unsanitary not to. Just tell them, you really want a pet of your own. You are maturing and your responcible and they don't smell. They are cheap, cute and you really want one. They are small and your parents wont even notice they are there except if they participate in the care by choice which is unnecesary because they are easy pets.

When I was a kid, I had friends who had hamsters, and dude, hamsters DO stink up a room!!!

Apparently your folks have an aversion to rodents, so you need to respect that.  

Can you think of another kind of pet your folks would let you have other than a rodent-type one?  Talk it over with them.

OK, hamsters are TOTALLY not like rats!! Oh my gosh, that is so insulting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... I love hamsters. Yeah, tell her that, some stranger loves hamsters!!!!!!!!! But anyways, if your mom doesn't want the hamsters to stink, I'll give you some tips (trust me, I have some serious experience)

OK, buy some low odor food. I think Nutriphase® Gold hamster/gerbil diet is pretty good.

OK, clean your hamsters cage once or twice a week. (CareFresh bedding is very, very, VERY great!!!)

You can also buy odor control spray to spray in their cage.

Hamsters are not like rats and mice, rats and mice are discusting. Hamsters are cute and adorable! Hamsters are also very entertaining. I just got one, and I love her! Keep talking about it, tell them all the good things about hamsters.
