  1. It really depend on what you plan on doing with the horse. Arabs are pretty versatile horses but the can also be high strung. I wouldn't focus on the breed and instead try to find a horse with the right temperament. You might like a thoroughbred or a quarter horse or something like that.

  2. Arabians are pretty, but they are the biggest handful next to thoroughbreds.  Unless you really know what you are doing, I wouldnt suggest an arabian as your first horse. They are very flighty, and they will push you around as much as they can if you don't know how to handle them!!

It is fine to only have one horse, but you need to spend a lot of time with it.  A daily grooming, and frequent rides are neccessary, and I always enjoyed laying on my horse while he grazed.  Just for the fun of it.

Try looking into an "all-around" horse like a paint, or a quarter horse.  Other breeds are just as great, but these are the most common.

  3. Horses are herd animals and live in natural families, I never recommend horses being on their own, horses are particularly sensitive and become phsycologically depressed without living company, that is why horses are stabled together. So if you are simply going to have a lone horse in a field then you are depriving the horse of natural socialisation.

A horse can live for 25 years and I am a beleiver that in the same way a dog is for life that a horse is too. I would ask that before you take on the responsibility of 1 or 2 horses for the duration of their lifetime that you have thought out the care and needs that the animals have over their lifetime and that you have adequate means in terms of time and money and skills to meet this on an ongoing basis.

  4.   it might not b lonely if u visit it &  be very nice to him/her everytime u get. An Arabian would be fine... they are very graceful & beautiful... any horse lover would know that... so yeah~ Just visit it as much as u can, but if u r still not sure, go on the internet & get the facts off some horse crazy website...
