  1. I am guessing the main reason your parents won't let you have a horse is because they are very costly to take care of.  While you are willing to take care of it are you financially able to take care of it if your parents aren't?  A horse not only needs enough property for it to run on but it takes feed, vet care, hoof care, etc.  Before you try talking to your parents again do some research.  Find out what its going to cost to feed it per month, what vet care costs and what kind of shots are needed to protect the horse,  Farrier costs and how many times a year you will need to have the hooves trimmed and shoes replaced.   Then come up with a solution on how you will pay for these things if your parents say that is the reason they do not want a horse.  Maybe look into finding ways to earn money like a part-time job so you can show you can afford to pay for everything your horse will need.

  2. Who is going to take care of the horse?

Who is going to pay all the bills associated with a horse?

Upkeep is expensive, and a horse is a lot of work.....

  3. do it like on a sit-com :

buy a horse secretly, and take great care of it

after awhile, like a month, then spill the beans that you got a horse and take good care of it and it's coming home to stay,

when they see what great care you've taken of it then they'll realize they were wrong and apologize,

unless it all blows up in your face like on TV :D

  4. Do you plan on racing this horse?

Suggest that you ask your question in the YA catagory  "Pets--

Horses."  Many people in this section just bet on 'em.

  5. How about taking the adult approach, research your area and find out if there are any horses that someone doesn't want to sell but would love a responsible person to care and ride it.  Ask your parents for a sit down and have a discussion that if you take care of this horse for someone else and prove to them after, say a year, if that is a satisfactory time for them, that their investment isn't going to be a waste of money if you lose interest after realizing the time a horse requires. If you expect your mom and dad to undertake the cost of your wish then wouldn't it be nice for you to respect them by proving you are willing to forego other luxuries for this dream by giving up your yearning to own your own right away.  This will also benefit you as you can then assess after a year what breed of horse you would like for the type of equestrian pursuit that will only be realized after riding for a period of time.  Thus ensuring your purchase is less costly because that breed was not what  you need for your discipline, eliminating selling what you don't want.  Remember practice makes perfect and horses don't flush down toilets like goldfish if you change your mind!  Your parents will respect how grown up your willing to be giving you a result maybe in your favor so give it a go!!!!

  6. Do you have a job that makes enough money to pay feed bills, vet biils, riding gear?  That may be the first step in leting them allow you to get a horse.   When you make enough money to take care of your self and a horse, I'm sure they would no tmind that you keep a horse on thier land.
