  1. well you usually have to go through a company, or ask a family you know,  but, does the city you live in have a sister city relationship with a city in japan? if so, you could contact your city council and ask.. or if your school knows a school in japan, they might be able to organise something for you.

also, i was looking through the Nara city website, and they do free hostfamily stays in Nara city for one week, here is the website

if you were looking at living in another city (like tokyo) for your trip, you could try looking to see if the city council there offer a similar program,  I think they prably would!!

I stayed with a hostfamily two years ago and it was the best experience ever! so good luck!

  2. woh good idea i was just thinking of renting an appartment there but a host family? genius :)

  3. travel agency maybe? or any relatives or family friends?

    btw Japan is awesome. :)

  4. There are many Japanese offering accommodation and family life on the Homestay Web. I will be staying in Tokyo November this year.
