  1. The 'terrorists,. are the people protecting their own oil. To them youre the terrorist..We should use our own oil and convert it to electricity in a fuel cell.  Be specific -hydrogen for an IC engine or for fuel cell electric motor?

  2. GM is expected to have a fuel cell SUV by 2010. I would rather retrofit current tech engines to burn hydrogen as fuel.Look up Bob Lazar on the internet-you might have to look in a few places but he says he makes his own hydrogen at home and has been driving on it for some time. He is supposed to be starting a company based on this.

  3. Hydrogen cars are still very impractical for civilian use.

    I suggest you get a hybrid gas/electric.

  4. Then vote for John McCain so we can drill for American oil to bring down the price, build nuclear power plants, and start a Manhattan Project style race to develop new sources of energy.

Obama is going to raise the price of gas by enacting the carbon tax and banning the drilling of American oil and the building of new refineries.  If you want $7 a gallon gas, then vote Obama 2008.

  5. Hydrogen technology has been around for over 50 years.

And the Oil Industry has been buying up the patents as fast as they came out.

however while many of the car manufacturers do have Hydrogen powered cars in the development stage, most are estimating another 10 years before they are to be released.

for those living in the LA area, Honda does have a hydrogen car available for lease only.

right now the estimated sticker price for a hydrogen powered car is between 100 k, and 150 K.

While Honda's lease cars are $600,00 a month, the problem being, that only a few fueling stations are available, and it takes a different service department to service Hydrogen cars.

And wile Hydrogen cars are better for the environment, their expense will not offset the price of fossil fuel cars.

  6. electric vehicles are much more viable with a 95% efficiency as compared to 55% for hydrogen.

ps. about kid courage's comment, constructing new drilling offshore and in alaska would only lower the gas price by about $0.50 a gallon, and it would take about 10 years before full production.  Also drilling in alaska would have a humongous effect on the alaskan wilderness.  Oil spills kill animals, it is little effect in the middle of the desert.  They need to stop using fossil fuels and hydrogen is not the way to go, it is way less inefficient.

  7. Well start drilling before it is too late.

  8. Amen, let's stop using gas today not years from now.   The solution is for 'We the People' to reduce immediately and cease using dirty non-renewable energy products like coal, oil, and nuclear as well as their deviratives such as gasoline.

The hold up with all of the renewable energy supplies, in my opinion, after researching this for decades is cheap oil, dirty politicians, and an uncaring population.   Although, patent rights play a major hindering role.

The population is starting to care as oil prices rise and it's really hurting the poor and middle classes in America who are paying huge percentage increases of their income.   While the wealthy acquaintances make statements like, 'Glad the prices are high keeps the roads clear for me.'   While my family feels every increase.

We need to take back our government by being active participants and flexing our tools to effect change.  One major tool is that of choice in what we buy.   We need to start today buying E85 (a domestic product) and blending it ourselves in every gas powered car that is 1983 and newer.   Add a pint to your tank your next 3 fill ups.   Add a quart for 2 more fill ups.   Add a gallon for the next 2 fill ups.   Then use equal portions of gasoline and E85.   Optional method for about $400 buy a conversion unit that will turn your normal gas car into a flexible fuel vehicle and run any ethanol blend you can find or make.  This will wake up our legislators, oil companies and their investors, and immediately reduce our funding of terrorists while helping our farmers and neighbors right here.   Fossil fuels should be as dead as the plants and animals that made them.

I can convert your car to hydrogen but it's 10 to 100 times more costly than a conversion to ethanol, currently.   If you are interested please email me.

    Thanks

  9. You certainly have a grasp on the whole problem. Your hydrogen car will probably cost more to buy and run, and there'll still be terrorism.

  10. I'm with you
