I know that many methods are still being developed, but is there anything currently out there for men?

I'm paranoid every month around my gf's period, and it's killing me.

  1. Actually those are the only two options a dude has for BC condom or cut the tubes vasectomy so if somone says there are others there is one more absenance no s*x

  2. Unfortunately, the only two options available are condoms and vasectomy. There are ongoing research projects on several other methods. Most of them don't permanently block the vas and due to this may not be as effective as vasectomy.

Vasectomy is permanent and is associated with too many known and unknown side effects to be recommended.

The cultural myth that vasectomy is safe and has no side effects is just that. A myth. I see people here all the time cheer leading for vasectomy. They remind me of pot smokers who try to get other people to do it to feel better about their choice.

Men are often silent about vasectomy side effects as they are embarrassing and make the man seem less like a man. Who wants to report decreased ejaculate volume or force of ejaculate or decrease in potency or any change to the "important parts". No one. They stay silent and the myth that vasectomy is completely safe and has few side effects is perpetuated.

Use the condoms with a spermicide. I do agree with some of the men who want to have no risk of pregnancy and can't or don't trust their partner (s). The only surefire way to avoid pregnancy is abstinence from vaginal penetration or vasectomy. All other methods leave some risk or doubt.

  3. just stop what you are doing dude!

    or

give her pills 3days before the act:)

  4. Abstinence?

    In other words, no.

  5. Avoid s*x , dont do it.

  6. h**l i get the same problem sometimes, petrified about her getting pregnant so at least thats normal from what i can tell. Is it feasible for her to get the pill or the patch?

  7. The short answer is that there is nothing. The Male Pill is a myth, there have been trials but nothing successful enough, and the only other alternative is having an inflatable tube placed in your tubes that can cut off the flow of sperm, and this is both invasive and years away from use outside of the lab.

You could ask your girls friend to use the pill, a contraceptive coil or a contraceptive cap. But none of those methods will protect you/her from STD.

A condom is the safest method on the market, real men don't take risks.

  8. Those are the only two practical options.  The male pill has losts of side effects.  It is a short term chemical castration.  Any man that takes it has to take testosterone supliments and anti depressants.

Condoms have been around for hundreds of years.  Vasectomies have been around for 100 years.  Don't trust anything that has been around less than 10 years.  How do you know that funky new pill will not cause testicular cancer?
