First I'm only 15 and I'm a girl, so how old do you have to be to have one? I have a friend my age who has a motorcycle, but she doesn't have a license or something like that so she only rides around her street. And about the license, do you need a special one or is a regular one good (for cars)? Obviously I'll have to wait till I'm at least 18 cause my parents wouldn't let me have one now lol. On average, how much would a motorcycle cost (a sports one)? Something like the 2008 kawasaki ninja (by the way, how much do those cost?)

  1. get yourself a Honda Rebel 250, they can be picked up for $1000-1500 and are great bikes to learn on and when your done they can be re-sold without a significant loss.

  2. First off, you should advise your friend to stop riding on the street.  In some states if she gets caught, she could end up not being able to get her license right away (when she is technically old enough).

When you turn 16 you should ask your parents politely if you can take a motorcycle safety course.  That will give you a good taste of what riding is all about.

Attached is a good link to compare motorcycle prices.  You will probably want to get a used bike to start off with.  Insurance is also going to be a lot of money. :(

  3. really depends on what size you want...

    bigger engines cost more typically...

you can get a new 250 ninja (kawasaki) for $2500 the new kawasaki 1400 costs 11,999

you can get a good used sport bike for around $3000

ABSOLUTELY first step is to take a MSF course, your parents shouldn't have a problem with letting you do that at 16, but I dunno... Here in ohio it costs $25 and they provide everything but your clothing...
