  1. Probably best to take the course 1st.  It also depends on the type of riding you want to do?  Sport, cruiser... they all bring a different kind of ride.

  2. So, sign up for a Basic Rider's Course, and when you pass it, go to dealers to examine bikes.  Of course you will be quite familiar with at least ONE bike after the class. A Honda 250cc, most likely. Depends on which motorcycle they provide, but when you buy LOTS (literally) of bikes, a low initial price is much nicer than a more expensive model even though if you were buying only one, you'd prefer a few more options.

Bike to look at the Kawasaki 250 Ninja, and the 500 Ninja.  Suzuki  gs 250, gs 500.  in fact the Japanese 250s and 4-500 cc bikes are pretty much all quite good.

  3. MSF course - http://nm.msf-usa.org/msf/ridercourses.a...

  4. Check out bike magazine. It's got bike reviews, from learner to sportsbikes and everything in between, it has articles on how things on the bike work, kit and clothing reviews and all sorts of random stuff.

It's a great magazine that could be a good introduction into the whole world of biking, plus, there's no girlies with their **** out (not my kinda thing)

    Good luck!

  5. So take a motorcycle riding course. It will teach you a lot!

    GOOD LUCK

  6. get an expert on motorcycles, someone to teach u

  7. The course, at least in my area, has different bikes for you to ride--excellent opportunity to ride diff. models and see what you like.

  8. Start by looking at the manufacturer's websites:

    http://powersports.honda.com

    http://www.suzukicycles.com/

    http://www.kawasaki.com/Home/Home.aspx

    http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produc...

    http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorthamer...

    http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/index...

    http://www.buell.com/selector.asp

    http://www.harleydavidson.com

Every mfg has detailed descriptions, specifications and prices listed. Get an idea of what kind of bike you want, what kind of bike suits what you want to DO and how much you can afford.
