  1. they are all good for gaming you will need a 2.4 gig processor at lease 1 gig ram seggest a gate way or have someone build you a gaming one. linux you will need to install wine i would suggest umbunto i you now how to install in command line in linux.

  2. I Have Windows XP

    With Dell

Dell Lets You Do Just About Anything!

I Also Have The Sims 2 With 16 Expansion Packs,And I Do The Custom Content And Photoshop (i have both)

dell is superfast, but try getting DSL or Cable Internet, you will be pleased.

  3. Well, the two big questions are: AMD or Intel and what is you budget?

I would go with a quad core, AMD (Phenom) or an Intel Q processor, quad core.  And, an Asus, Gigabyte or MSI motherboard.  For what you described, you don't need SLI, so if you can live with a single PCIe card, that is fine.  There are a number of choices for motherboard, but the first thing you want to do is figure out which microprocessor you want and then which motherboard with which features.  I wouldn't waste my time on cheap motherboards...because no matter how good your processor, if you get a cheapo mobo, you have a cheapo computer.

If you are wanting to do photoshop and artwork, graphics is your thing, I would go with AMD's newest and best graphics card, the AMD Radeon 9850 (better than nVidia's 280X), a single card only.  Then, get 4 gigs of High Speed DDR2 1066 Mhz RAM (I just got 4 gigs of Patriot DDR2 1066 RAM for $99.95).  You have to make sure the motherboard supports it.  And a minimum of a 500 gigabyte hard disk.  Seagate or Western Digital.  And a like 20X DVD/CD burner, either Liteon or Pinoeer.  A 650 Watt Antec Truepower power supply and an Antec 900 Case, and I think you would have a really great computer.  Those are my recommendations.  With a computer like this, you will be able to do all your graphics work and maybe even play a few games :)

PS - Stick with XP Pro for now, unless you want to venture into Vista.
