  1. I'm 5'6 and about 155lbs and just bought a Forum Star 146 and I love it.  It's got the standard four s***w pattern for bindings so as long as you don't have Burtons they'll fit right on and if you do you can just buy a new disc to throw in 'em and they'll go on fine.

At the mountain that I ride they have a high end shop where you can rent and demo boards.  It's a bit more expensive than renting at a regular shop but you can try out something that you can later buy there or at another shop.

  2. Uh...snappy and shorter, sounds like a park board?

Rome or maybe Lib-Tech.  Rome is a serious name in park and jib riding.  You'll probably need about a 148, but that's only an estimate.  The bindings you have are...?  Although it doesn't really matter unless you have big feet, then you'd need a wide board.  Otherwise, it should be fine.

  3. It sounds like you need an All mountain/freestyle board some good ones you should check out are

    Rome Blue

    Rome Vinyl

    Ride Fever

    Forum Superstar

    Forum Star

    Gnu B- Nice

    Gnu B-Street

    Atomic Fallen Angel

    Salomon Lush

    Bataleon Distortia

    Palmer Liberty

Im not sure on the prices on all of these so they might not all be that cheap, but i know the Atomic Fallen Angel is good value for money. Good luck with the riding

  4. I just bought a Ride Vista board for $190 from surftheearthsnowboards.com  If you find a board that you like go to a site like nextag or pricegrabber and type it in.  You will get all the places that sell that board and many of the places have last years (06-07) designs on sale for dirt cheap.

  5. I am a personal fan of Nitro snowboards. They are very good technical boards but cheaper than Burton. You can get last years models pretty cheap. I'm 5'6" and 150 and ride a 153 cm board. If you want a park board you'll want a shorter one. The T1 Women's or NYX, they have a size/weight chart for all their boards. Somewhere between 146 and 149.

I highly recommend them as a good sturdy board that will last a long time. I have used their lowest priced women's board for 3 seasons (30-60 days/nights a season) and it is still a good board, not delaminating anywhere, still looks pretty good too.

  6. rome vinyl.
