  1. I agree that budgerigars [budgies] are trainable, easy maintenance, beautiful birds are right for the beginner. I have two myself and they are wonderful. The right way to present this matter to your parents is with knowledge. Do a lot of research and find reliable sources on the internet and print out material on taking care of birds. Also, if you can, check out a local pet shop that sells pet supplies and live birds. [I wouldn't buy an animal from a pet shop with dogs and cats for sale there]. Check the prices of bird supply and talk it over with your parents. Make sure you have the time and energy to take care of them. That's how I convinced my parents! So just make sure you know what you're getting into and show your parents that you can take care of them. Quite frankly, upkeep for a budgie isn't that much.

  2. budgies. they are very manageable and cute. they like to sing and it is very nice, i had two budgies before, my and my sister both owned one, unfortunately mine, cisco, died. now we have one, melia. very easy to clean the cage, just need to change the paper at the bottom couple times a week, depending on how dirty it is, they like to p**p a lot. food and water need to be changed maybe once or twice a week, again depending on how dirty or out it is. they are very nice pets to have, and also not very big.

  3. you seem prety conviced on geting a bird and i understand why they are beutifal animals, when i was younger i convinced my parents by getting a baby chick.  my parents siad that if i took care of the chicken i could get a parot, i took very good care of the bird and after a monthe or so they offerd me the parrot but i siad no because i was so atachhed to the chicken. try somthing like that.do not get a parekket they bite allot, most parrots bite try getting a sun conure i have 3. but if thats to expensive wich it probally is(600$) try geting a canary they are loving birds that dont bite at all, they are about fiiftenn to thirty dollars,

  4. parakeets are the best! i used to have 2 and they were great to play with. we had a ton of toys and used to feed them treats such as millet spray. They loved it and were very active. Good luck!

  5. Budgies ( http://confluence.mickaboo.org/download/... ) are very nice birds with a somewhat decent word vocabulary if you train them right. They are small and easy enough to take care of if you're diligent with their care. Might I also suggest parrotlets ( http://www.parrotlets.ca/images/linda.jp... ) or lovebirds ( http://www.fedbybirds.com/pics/lovebirds... )?

  6. who wouldnt want a bird their so awesome...you should get one of the tropical parrots youd be the coolest kid on your block...make like a powerpoint on why you should get one and make charts and stuff, i know it sounds cheesy but theyll be impressed. or you could say you have no friends and the bird will be your new best friend

and apparantly alot of people are saying to get a budgie, you could get if you want...but a parrot is way cooler....just to let you know

  7. get a parakeet/budgie their so cute!

  8. be a good child and do everything that your parents tell you to do and do some extra stuff for them 'n tell them you'll be responsible for it (you better be if you get one)

a young male budgie can become very attached to their owner if you play with him and love him alot

  9. if you want a pet bird you have to no hoe to take care of it and know that you will have alot of responsibility

  10. OMG thats soo werid ! casue like i was looking at pet sotres for a samller tank for my fish and i was looking at birds and i actually wanted one lol :]

    thats so weird !

i was thinking that last week actually !

budgiess are so cute but  finches are good if you clip there wings or they would fly away

    they are really tiny too

DONT GET A FREAKING PARROT !

oh and to convince your parents make sure you research the bird you want alot to the point where you can answer any question about the bird , how to maintain it in the house hold and also how to take care of it

it takes a lot of resposibility to have one and also they chirp too so that might be annoying so think it throught beforeyou get it and do as much research as you can

  11. Why don't you read up on the type of bird you want (they need alot of attention).  Maybe do a report on the care of them and show your parents how much you studied for a pet bird.  Try a parakeet maybe?
